How to reach us
The Elba Island, the pearl of the Tuscan Archipelago and the heart of the Archipelago National Park, is easily reached by sea via ferries departing from the port of Piombino Marittima (province of Livorno). There are two shipping companies that make more trips (for passengers and vehicles) during the day: Toremar and Moby Lines. A single hour of navigation to cover about 10 km of sea and reach the ports of Portoferraio, the capital of Elba, and Rio Marina. There is also a fast hydrofoil connection for passengers only: it reaches Portoferraio in just under forty minutes.
If you arrive by car
the north
Direction Piombino Marittima, from the north take the A1, from Milan, and take the Parma-Ovest on the A15 towards Genova-Livorno (A12). It must exit at Rosignano and continue on the Aurelia state road up to Venturina-Piombino Marittima.
By car
from other directions
From the north-east, take the A1 Bologna-Florence-Pisa-Livorno, exit at Rosignano and continue to the Piombinese port. From the south follow the A12 Rome-Grosseto motorway to Rosignano Marittima, proceed on the freeway to Venturina-Piombino Marittima.
On the train
The arrival station is that of Piombino Marittima on the Pisa-Rome axis. Check costs, timetables and availability on the Trenitalia website
By plane
The La Pila airport, 2 km from Marina di Campo, is open all year round but is particularly active in the summer months. Internal air connections are with Milan MPX, Bergamo BGY, Bologna and Pisa. International flights also from Bern and Zurich and Friedrichshafen and Munich.
